The Mlangeni Foundation was founded by Andrew Mlangeni in the Dube townsh.ip in Soweto, about 12 km from the centre of Johannesburg in South Africa. After the death of his wife, June (June was active early on, caring for elderly people in the township) while Andrew, as an anti-apartheid activist and associate of Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulus, spent many years imprisoned on Robben Island. Today, the Foundation ranks among the most famous in South Africa, advocating for the holistic and sustainable development of disadvantaged communities and regions in South Africa. The Mlangeni Foundation works with national and international institutions and NGOs. The Mlangeni Foundation supports F.E.E.D. in identifying communities and areas in South Africa which are disadvantaged and in need of aid, and together with local stakeholders, in locating participants and training land, away from the centres for agricultural courses, and also in locating schools where vitality porridge donations might be distributed and teachers trained.
