In a three-month intensive training program by FEED in the Food & Energy plant Potchefstroom, which was supported by the Munich-based digital company STTECH, the 44-year-old Sindiswa, a single parent and unemployed by the COVID pandemic, was intensively trained in several training units in sustainable agriculture and subsequently received a permanent position in the Artemesia production Potchefstroom.
Every year, about 800 people in need are trained in sustainable agriculture through the FEED training measures, about 20% of the participants in the basic trainings can be further trained and get a new job or start a small farm themselves.
The main target group for the training measures, which are recognized and certified by Agri-SETA, are women and mothers, who are often the support of the family and the entire community, as well as young adults, who are given a new perspective for a self-determined future.
